This optional non-security update aims to enhance general OS performance and reliability, particularly focusing on Windows Hello improvements and accelerating app launch and core shell experiences.
Additionally, the update improves Windows reliability in various areas such as File Explorer, sign-in and lock screens, theme changes, and touch gestures on touchscreen devices.
Users can install the update via Microsoft Update Catalog or through Windows Update settings.
The update also includes enhancements like shared audio capabilities and improvements to CPU speed display in Task Manager, sensors, HID devices, and Secure Boot certificates.
Microsoft has been actively addressing issues such as domain controller lookup failures on Windows Server 2016 systems post-update installation.
