Resolving BitLocker Woes: Microsoft Fixes Issue Triggering Recovery Screens on Windows Server 2025 Devices

Microsoft has fixed an issue causing some Windows Server 2025 devices to boot into BitLocker recovery after installing the April 2026 security update.
This issue was related to specific Group Policy configurations, and affected systems needed to enter the BitLocker recovery key on the first restart after the update.
The problem was resolved in the KB5094125 and KB5093998 cumulative updates.
IT admins were advised to remove the Group Policy configuration before installing updates or apply a Known Issue Rollback.
Similar issues had been addressed in the past, with emergency updates released in May 2025 for Windows 10 systems.
