EOODFlight Controllers Under Attack: CubePilot Faces DNS Hijacking Crisis
29 July 2026CubePilot, an Australian firm that designs flight controllers for drones, experienced a severe operational disruption due to a DNS hijacking attack.
The attacker gained control of the cubepilot.org domain DNS settings on July 24, leading to potential interception of sensitive data, malware delivery, and phishing.
TLS certificates covering all subdomains were also obtained, allowing for valid HTTPS connections to attacker-controlled infrastructure.
CubePilot has regained control of its domains, revoked certificates, and reported the incident to authorities.
Services are currently offline, and users are warned to change passwords if used on July 24.
Firmware integrity is being evaluated, with pre-July 24 downloads considered safe.
Clients are advised to confirm payment requests over the phone to prevent further attacks.
