EOODUnresolved Always On VPN Bug in Windows 11: Microsoft Admits Mistake in October 2026 Updates
21 October 2026Microsoft recently acknowledged a bug in their October 2026 Windows 11 cumulative updates that caused Always On VPN connection issues.
The bug affected systems running Windows 11 24H2 and later, causing VPN connections to get stuck in a connecting state or display errors after initial connection attempts.
Despite marking the bug as resolved, Microsoft admitted that it was not fixed and will release a solution in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, they suggest IT administrators change the VPN profile to use either SSTP or IKEv2 protocols only.
This issue adds to a series of problems linked to the September cumulative updates, including Hyper-V issues and Remote Desktop Services failures.
Microsoft is also working on fixing a bug affecting the File History backup feature in Windows 11.
